Now this is a big deal...it’s like England reaching the European Championships final, and this lot are just as passionate as we are at home (minus the violence). How they’ve done it I’ve got no idea. “Luck” is a word which I find is heavily overused, but it’s been difficult not to apply it to Ghana’s tournament. They’re overly religious out here, which could explain the almost miraculous nature by which they’ve avoided being knocked out...!
With the group stages made a hell of a lot easier after Togo withdrew from the tournament (albeit under the most tragic of circumstances, which I’m sure you heard about), Ghana were smashed 3-1 by neighbours Ivory Coast in their first game, and just scraped through after beating Burkina Faso 1-0
If Ghana had been playing against a decent team in any of their last 3 games they would’ve been shat on just like they were by Ivory Coast, but somehow they’ve done it. They’re in the final for the first time in 28 years, playing against Egypt, and it’s gonna be MASSIVE on Sunday when it takes place. To be fair, Ghana has a lot of injuries and have been fielding a team of junior players, so they deserve the credit where it’s due. But whatever happens, a win on Sunday will be a ridiculous party, so I’ll make sure to update you on how it goes...!!!
and no I don’t know what that pose is about either.
